Object-Tracker  Object Tracker is a modular and extensible system for motion detection, motion analysis, and tracking of moving targets (persons, vehicles, animals, ...).

The system observes a scene of interest with cameras (USB-, network-, and CCTV cameras) and processes the acquired video sequence in real time. It detects movement, segments moving entities, and tracks these targets from one image to the next. When a tracked target interacts with a user-defined region (e.g., cross lines, enter regions, remain in regions for a certain time, and others), the system will automatically trigger user-defined actions such as acoustic signals, record alarm-images, broadcast notifications, or control external devices. The system creates reports which provide a condensed view of what happened in a selected period.

Object-Tracker is implemented in software and runs on a commercial PC with MS-Windows operating system. Interfaces are provided to connect off-the-shelf hardware components or existing video-installations.

Object-Tracker can support or even replace a human operators in a variety of visual monitoring and tracking tasks. Typical applications are found in the areas of surveillance and safety, process automation, and life- and behavioral sciences. See a few examples:

Monitoring of traffic: When the car crosses the sensor-line a counter will be incremented and an alarm-photo will be taken.

Surveillance of entrances and privat areas

Automatic tracking of a target with a virtual camera
Activity monitoring: The analysis of the motion pattern in a user defined region of interest allows certain conclusions about the activity of an individual, or about the collective activity of a group in this region (e.g. characterization of activity at the workplace, slow traffic detection or detection of congestions, flow of crowd in public places and others).
